ACCESS

As a disability arts organisation, we subscribe to the social model of disability. That is, we believe that disability is the result of the interaction between people living with impairments and an environment filled with physical, attitudinal, communication and social barriers (as per PWD).

We strive to create accessible and inclusive arts and cultural experiences and are committed to access and inclusion for all people.

NDIS

Did you know that arts programs can be part of personalised plans for individuals under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)? While our organisation is not currently registered with the NDIS, we offer tailored programs that align with the NDIS categories such as social and economic participation, skills development, pathways to employment, and health and wellbeing.

At our organization, whether you engage in workshops or one-on-one mentoring, our programs are crafted to support your personal, professional, and social aspirations.

About Support for Disabilities:

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) by the Australian Government provides financial assistance to Australians with disabilities. It aids in funding various supports and services tailored to an individual's disability, aimed at helping them achieve their objectives.

Who is eligible for NDIS?

To qualify for NDIS, individuals need to have a permanent disability that impacts their effective participation in activities or performing tasks, significantly influencing their social and economic involvement. Eligibility also requires Australian citizenship, permanent visa status, or holding a Protected Special Category Visa. Additionally, applicants should be under 65 years of age (or under 55 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders).

VENUE INFORMATION

At each of the venues we use to host our Community Programs and Workshops, there is a designated quiet space.

We have a policy of no pressure to participate and encourage individuals to take breaks as needed.

We work at the pace we need to go at, always with options for a slower approach.

We encourage you to contact us to discuss your access needs, including requests for Auslan interpreters.

While we do our best to ensure that our accessibility information is correct, please get in touch with us if you notice a mistake, or if you have any suggestions or feedback.
